Your smile is an important part of your life. Having a healthy and beautiful smile can boost your self-esteem and provide you with the confidence you both want and need. When you discover that you need a crown, Grant Dental can help you get the highest quality work while minimizing the impact on your daily life.
With our same-day crowns patients get minimal discomfort and optimal outcomes every time. Same day crowns, or Chair-side Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic (CEREC), can be done with fewer injections and drilling, making the treatment process less painful and less stressful. The procedures are completed quickly so you can get the results you are after as quickly as possible.
CEREC is an innovative new method used by top dentists today, and in many cases is superior to the old process for placing crowns. We use an advanced dental restoration tool to create functional and beautiful CEREC crowns right in our dental office, which speeds up the entire process and ensures you get the perfect tooth to match your existing teeth seamlessly. Visit us today to find out how we can help improve your look and oral health with our same day crowns in Meridian & Boise.
The Same-Day Crown Process
When you get a same-day crown from Grant Dental all it takes is three easy steps:
Step 1: Exam and Preparation
Patients will undergo a complete dental exam so the dentist has an idea of exactly what treatment is required to restore oral health. The dentist will use this time to remove any tooth decay, as well as clean and prepare the patient’s mouth for the procedure.
Step 2: Optical Impression
The next step is to find the targeted tooth or teeth by taking an optical impression. This ensures the highest level of accuracy and helps the dentist understand what will be required for the procedure.
Step 3: Restoration and Creation
Finally it’s time to create the new tooth. We allow our patients to watch how the CEREC machine creates their crowns in our dental office, and then we install it in the patient’s mouth as the final step in the process.
CEREC technology is a state-of-the-art option for crowns, and because it is so convenient and effective, it is becoming more widely used in Canada and the United States. However, not all dentists use this procedure so it’s important to talk to one that does if you’re interested in getting your crowns done in a single day.
CEREC vs. Traditional Crowns
There are many benefits that the CEREC technology offers patients who need to get a crown. Same-day crowns often look more aesthetically pleasing than traditional crowns because they can be matched exactly to your existing teeth color. Unlike the usual method, CEREC procedures are much quicker because they can be done in a single visit, rather than multiple visits to prepare your mouth, take impressions, wait for the tooth to be created in another lab, then another appointment to get it installed.
With the advanced technology in the CEREC machine, you get a fully automated process that eliminates the need to send impressions to an off-site lab. We can show you the results right in our clinic, which saves a lot of time. After the system takes a 3D image of your tooth, Dr. Grant will start designing CEREC crowns or fillings that precisely match your natural tooth color.
